The Bloomsburg Fair, Bloomsburg, Pa. - Tuesday, September 24th, 2024

My second trip to the fair this year. It was a nice cool day and it wasn’t very crowded.

Joe’s Pierogies - D Avenue & 7th St.

Homemade Pierogies with Onions and Butter - 10/10

You won’t get any better than this at the fair. Joe’s is the best!

Vesuvios - B avenue & 5th St.

Pepperoni Pizza - 8/10

This was good, but I feel like it could’ve gone in the oven a bit longer. It’s one of the better places to get pizza at the fair.

Top of the Beef - B avenue & 5th St.

Beef Sandwich - 8/10

This place always smells great, and the sandwiches are always really good. I asked for a medium cut, but it was pretty much well done. It was still good, but would’ve likely given a better rating for a medium cut.

Bowman’s Fries - Carnival Games Row

Fresh Cut Fries - 10/10. THE KING OF THE FRESH CUT FRIES…THE BEST!

I’ve had Bowman’s fries every year since I was a little kid. These have always been the best. There’s also a stand on the midway.

Sweet Pickins - 2nd St. (Rides Side of the Fair)

Sweet Corn - 10/10. THE KING OF THE SWEET CORN…THE BEST!

They also have AMAZING fresh brewed tea, shaved ice, and rice pudding.

John the Greek - Free Stage Blvd.

Gyro - 10/10. THE KING OF THE Gyros…THE BEST! Everyone knows it.

There are tons of John the Greek locations throughout the fair, but this one gives you more meat.

Belly Busters - B Ave. and 10th St.

Fresh Battered Chicken Tenders - 6.5/10

I think they were just overcooked. They were pretty dry. Don’t let that stop you from trying Belly Busters though, they have perfect wings, and their burgers are amazing.

Country Fried Fruit Pies - B Avenue & 6th St.

Blueberry Fried Fruit Pie with Ice Cream and Cinnamon Sugar - 10/10

I’m not much for sweets, but I have to get this every year, it’s the best!

Bassetts - Cave & 3rd St. (On the Midway)

Beef Vegetable Soup - 6/10

Last year, I thought their soup was one of the best, and for some reason, it always seems to be way better than the stand-over by the rides. I got the bottom of the pot and there wasn’t much broth. It’s usually a lot better, I think I just got dealt a bad card today.

Our Lady of Mercy Church - 2nd st. (Rides Side of the Fair)

Vegetable Beef Soup - 7/10

I’ve had their stuff before and it’s pretty good.

Unicorn Concessions - E Avenue and 7th St.

Strawberry Shortcake Sundae - 8/10

These are always pretty solid. They also have a stand next to the free stage.

Tony’s Steaks - Over by Gate 5 by the Petting Zoo

Cheesesteak with Fried Onions - 8/10

Everyone has been raving over this stand, and there was quite a line, but it moved fast. I have to say, it was pretty good. I still think Vince’s is a little better, but this was good.
