Penn’s Tavern Restaurant, Sunbury, Pa.

Penn’s Tavern is is a historical waterfront restaurant, located on the beautiful Susquehanna River, just south of Sunbury, PA.

It is also one of the oldest buildings in Northumberland County…it may even be the oldest. It is also haunted. The staff over the years have seen a girl in an upstairs window, and when we visited this past weekend, I was sitting completely still, and I felt something pull my chair back slightly; I swear to god.

In the summertime, there is live music on the deck that overlooks the Susquehanna River. I love this place and really don’t get here as often as I’d like to.

THE RATINGS:

  • Southwest Chile: 8.5/10. Very tasty and had the right amount of kick.

  • Avocado Chicken Melt: 6/10

  • Beer Battered Fried Chicken Wrap: 7/10

  • Black Angus Hot Mustard Pressed Wrap: 8/10. Loved the pepper mustard
