Mellow Mushroom, Lakeland, FL.

Another chain restaurant exception, Mellow Mushroom, specializes in stone-baked pizza.

Unfortunately, this location doesn’t have magic mushroom soup, which is probably the best mushroom soup I’ve ever had.

We had the build-your-own burger with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, bacon, and avocado, which was okay but nothing special, 7/10. We also had the mighty meaty pizza, which I’d give an 8/10.

It’s hard to find good pizza in central Florida, so it’s nice to have a Mellow Mushroom in the area.
